BORDER CROSSING

Black and white and handcolored gelatin silver prints as well as pigmented inkjet prints.

This is a series of images which speak of physical, emotional and psychological borders which we experience daily as human beings. Some borders we willingly choose, while others are thrust upon us. Life and death, serious illness and disabilities, natural and unnatural disasters, and political mandates are not borders we may choose, however they shape our destiny as well as the intentional ones we carefully select for our lives. How we respond to them defines who we are and what we shall become.
